Iconology - The Word Becoming Experience in Bali

Previous Page

Most of my “metaphysical” images are created out of combinations of ideas. They come referencing symbols but are really sewn together as feelings and intuitive “hits.” This image is pretty much about that process. The image includes an old map representing the near and far east, a symbolic moon, the 12 signs of the zodiac, the 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 disciples, an image of the brain diagramming how we see and an image by Georges de La Tour that puts the eyes in emphasis. This image was created before I went to Bali. In fact Bali wasn’t a thought at all while doing the work.
  • The moon astrologically represents the higher emotional faculties like hope, faith, and benevolence. It also represents the female principle: nurturing, mother, wife, and women generally, instincts, receptivity, change, habit patterns and emotions.
My experience, in Bali, with wife and friends, Shya and Ariel Kane was very much about nurturing my aware self, being receptive to other people’s perceptions and influences, and looking at habits of thought. That Bali is a Hindu culture with its own form of astrology adds to the associations.
  • The image of the brain has a projected oval image that is divided equally light and dark. The number 22, placed in the center of the oval, is the Master Builder in numerology. Coincidentally there are also 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet that represent the 22 sounds that created the universe. There are 12 signs of the zodiac and 10 planets or 22 astrological principles that resolve themselves in physical reality.
  • The first master number 11 or illumination (enlightenment) is realized in the second master number 22, The 22, the Master Builder, is capable of combining awareness with the ability to manifest this capacity in form. Enormous power is available to him to produce on a significant scale, for the benefit of humanity. When this potential is realized, the individual becomes a MASTER BUILDER, capable of full self-expression, joy in life, love, deep satisfaction and feats well beyond those who are slowed and stifled by “mind”.
The expression of thanks to those who have made life a joy and an ever-expanding experience can never be enough. If it hadn’t been for beloved friends, Shya and Ariel, what was intuitive insight and intellectual connections would be mere words and new age posturing, not a state of being. The words did become experience in Bali. They continue to become experience as being manifest.

Thank you good friends who have been part of the journey. The journey that discovers, “That which you are looking for is that which is looking”.
